We are excited and pleased to announce that Iowa Kidstrong's KidStriders has been asked to kick-off the brand new Grand Blue Mile sponsored by the Drake Relays and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield on Tuesday, April 20. Iowa Kidstrong has also been named the Nonprofit Partner for the Event! It is opportunities like this that make KidStriders both a rewarding and sustainable program for our participating schools and students, so we are grateful to the Drake Relays and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield!
KidStriders will run 1/4 mile from about 7th and Locust to the finish line at Nollen Plaza. Anticipated event time is 5:30 p.m. This will replace our Friday night Drake Relays event and the new venue will surely support growth of the program! Following our KidStriders run, there will be a series of 1-mile runs/races as well as finish line festivities our KidStriders participants and families will be invited to stay for. The event is entirely FREE for participants and spectators. More specific information will be provided in the coming weeks along with important dates for your KidStriders program and will be posted here. |
